The Opportunity
We're seeking a talented hands-on Lead Backend Engineer to join our team. You'll play a pivotal role in architecting, building and scaling the core of our next-generation SaaSlearning platform to enable global enterprises to develop their workforces. You'll also be responsible for building and managing the development team, ensuring that our platform is robust, scalable, and delivers an exceptional user experience.
What You'll Do:
• Contribute to the design & architecture of our new core product platform backend consisting of the Python, Django, DRF, Azure, Docker, PostgreSQL, Celery, RabbitMQ and GitHub among other components.
• Write clean, efficient, reliable code using proven, reliable components and design patterns.
• Rapid prototyping, vetting & iterating when needed.
• Perform code reviews, enforce best practices to ensure code quality with an eye for performance, security and maintainability.
• Test, track, and monitor usage & features.• Work closely with Product, UI/UX teams to create compelling user experiences.
• Build and manage the development team, providing technical leadership and mentorship.
• Develop and maintain APIs for our platform to integrate with other systems and services.
• Work closely with our CTO and leadership to research and implement cutting-edge technologies to enhance our platform's capabilities, including AI-powered features.
What You Bring:
• 8+ years of experience with serious Python/Django/DRF, & database chops.
• Strong software architecture and design understanding with excellent hands-on coding skills.
• Experience in caching and securing data at appropriate layers for scalable, performant and secure APIs.
• Experience with Git, TDD, CI/CD and A/B testing.
• Proven experience building high availability, scalable systems on cloud platforms likeAWS, GCP or Azure.
• Expertise in database technologies (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL).
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
